Extending the Benefits of Your Session

Depending on your circumstances I may offer some suggestions following the session, such as:

Hydration: I always recommend drinking 16oz of water immediately following your massage and highly recommend drinking at least 1/2 your body weight in ounces every day. For example a person weighing 160lbs would drink 80 oz or 2.5 liters of water each day, drinking consistently throughout the day beginning first thing in the morning. Maintaining adequate hydration is tremendously helpful for relieving many kinds of pain including muscle tension and soreness and joint stiffness.

Stretches: If I think that a specific stretch will help maintain the benefits of your massage I will demonstrate it to you and explain how often I would like you to do the stretch

Posture: If your symptoms seem to be related to your posture I will recommend a treatment plan that is focused on bringing you into alignment to relieve your painful symptoms and avoid further dysfunction in the future

Sleep position: We each sleep for about 6-8 hours every night, which is a very long time to be in any position, and small changes, like putting a pillow under your knees when sleeping on your back, can make a huge difference in the quality of your sleep and how you feel during the day

Breathing techniques: Certain breathing techniques can be very effective at relieving mental / emotional stress as well as reliving muscle tension and pain.
